David Fialkow
David Fialkow is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of General Catalyst, a venture firm that partners with founders on their journey to building world-class businesses focused on responsible innovation. His areas of expertise include fintech, digital health, and data analytics.
David holds a film degree from Colgate University and a law degree from Boston College. Alongside his wife, Nina, he produces documentary films that emphasize social justice. Notably, two of their films, ICARUS and NAVALNY, won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2018 and 2023, respectively. Their additional works include American Symphony, The Great Hack, Beyond Utopia, The Vow, Bending the Arc, Retrograde, Aftershock, The Grab, Citizen Ashe, and more.
In addition to his work in venture capital and filmmaking, David is dedicated to philanthropy, raising millions of dollars for children's programs through biking, running, skiing, climbing, and rowing challenges. He also serves on several non-profit boards, including the Pan-Mass Challenge, the Vineyard Youth Foundation, and The MIT Corporation. David chairs the Investment Advisory Committee at The Engine, an initiative launched by MIT.
