David M. Rubenstein is the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest private equity firms, managing $195 billion from 31 worldwide offices. Prior to co-founding Carlyle, Mr. Rubenstein served as Deputy Assistant to President Carter for Domestic Policy, Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and practiced law in both New York and Washington. Mr. Rubenstein serves on several boards including Chairman of the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. Mr. Rubenstein graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Duke, and holds a law degree from the University of Chicago.
