Joel Cutler is a co-founder and managing director of General Catalyst, a venture capital firm with offices in Boston, New York and Silicon Valley, and approximately $3.75 billion in total capital raised.
Joel invests in teams creating real inflection points in consumer experiences through information technology products and services, consumer internet/mobile, e-commerce and online travel. His portfolio of investments includes: Airbnb; Handy; Jet.com (acquired by Wal-Mart in September 2016); Kayak (2012 IPO and subsequently acquired by Priceline in May 2013); Lemonade; Oscar Insurance; Cadre; Sabre (NASDAQ: SABR); The Honest Company; and Warby Parker.
Joel serves on several non-profit boards, including Boston Children’s Hospital Trust. He is a past board member of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School, as well as the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He also served as an overseer of The Boys & Girls Club of Boston, and Colby College.
